    Foams

    Foam bladder tanks are designed to expand the foam solution into millions of tiny bubbles where the solution expands in volume at a rate greater than 200:1.

    Bladder extinguishing effectiveness is achieved by a combination of the following:

    - Free air movement, essential for continuous combustion, is reduced.

    - The transition of the water content of the foam solution to vapour dilutes the oxygen concentration, reaching a level below which combustion cannot be supported.

    - The reduced surface tension of the foam solution draining from the expanded foam penetrates Class A materials, extinguishing deep fires.

    - The foam solution reduces the temperature below the combustion point or autoignition temperature of class A and B fuels.

    - The insulating and heat-reflective properties of the foam blanket provide a thermal shield that prevents the spread of fire and extinguishes deep fires.
