    Xtralis Open Area Optical Smoke Detection (OSID) is a new linear optical detection technology based on the use of light at two different wavelengths and an optical receiver, which allows for unprecedented detection quality in this type of installation. OSID provides a low-cost, reliable and easy-to-install solution that overcomes typical problems of infrared beam detectors, such as the incidence of false alarms and alignment difficulties.
